Terms of Service

Last updated: 28 September 2026

1. Who we are

therka ("the service", "we", "us") is operated by Brand Factory Kft., registered in Hungary under company registration number 01-09-984699, VAT number 23923933-2-42, at Ráth György utca 16., 1122 Budapest, Hungary. You can reach us at contact@therka.com.

2. What the service does

therka is a screenplay development tool. You write or import a screenplay, and — on the paid plans — you can run an AI analysis of it and hold a conversation with your own characters, who answer only from what is on the page.

therka is a companion tool, not a replacement for a screenwriting application, and the AI output is a prompt for your own thinking, not professional advice. You remain responsible for what you write.

3. Your account

4. Your work stays yours

You own your screenplay and everything you write in therka. We claim no rights over it. We do not publish it, sell it, or show it to anyone else, and we do not use it to train AI models — neither ours nor anyone else's.

We process your text only to deliver a feature you asked for: saving it, analysing it when you press the button, or answering as a character when you send a message. How that works, and who else is involved, is set out in the privacy notice.

Output produced by the AI is yours to use. Be aware that AI systems can produce similar text for different people, so we cannot promise the output is unique.

5. Plans, payment and limits

6. Cancelling, and your right to withdraw

Cancelling at any time

You can cancel from your account whenever you like. You keep the paid plan until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then move to the free tier. Nothing is deleted when that happens: you keep writing, editing and exporting, and every analysis you already ran stays readable. What stops is starting new analyses and sending new chat messages.

Right of withdrawal (consumers in the EU/EEA)

If you are a consumer in the EU or EEA, you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason.

Because therka is digital content supplied immediately, by subscribing you ask us to start supplying it at once and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once supply has begun. If you have not used any AI analysis or chat message in the period, contact us within 14 days and we will refund it anyway.

7. What you must not do

If you do, we may suspend the account. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your work.

8. Availability

We do not promise uninterrupted service. therka is under active development; features change, and we may take it down for maintenance. We depend on outside providers (listed in the privacy notice) and an outage at one of them can stop parts of the service working.

Keep your own copies. Export matters to you; the export function exists for exactly this reason.

9. Liability

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

Otherwise, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, or lost or corrupted data, and our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period.

10. Changes

We may change these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Changes to prices or plan allowances do not apply to a period you have already paid for.

11. Ending the agreement

You can stop using therka and delete your account at any time. We may end the agreement with 30 days' notice, or immediately for a serious breach of section 7. If we end it without cause, we refund the unused part of what you have paid.

12. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of Hungary, and the courts of Budapest, Hungary have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory law of the country where you live, and you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.
